1419 Needs Help

8 Dec

This came in just now from the good people of 1419, the mixed use intrepid arts space at 1419 Washington that hosts all sorts of creative endeavors, from plays to music to art shows and beyond. This is one of our local creativity incubators, so help them keep on dancing!

Hey there, friend.

We’ve been having some tough times making rent money to pay for our storefront space. Partly as a consequence of our November fundraising event falling flat as a result of running straight into that ugly ice-storm the other week (hope you all stayed safe), 1419 is in danger of losing our space. We need a hand to be able to hold on to our building, to stay vital and to keep programming free events and programs that support and enrich our community.

If you feel that 1419’s continued existence is important to you, please consider donating to us. Visit our website,, and take a look. 1419 runs on a social and artistic economy, which can make it hard to, you know, make rent. To keep our events free and our space accessible to emerging artists, we need your help.

A donation even of $5-15 makes a big difference. Go to our website and click the “Donate” button to make a contribution through PayPal. Tell your friends; ask them to donate. It’s super easy and it takes about 3 minutes. And if you’re inclined to make a larger donation, your contribution can be made tax-deductible through our friends Springboard for the Arts–just add “1419” as your designation when you donate.

Again, to donate, go to 1419’s website and click that button.

We believe that a student-led network of artists empowered to initiate new and experimental work creates value in and for the broader arts community on a scale from neighborhood to nation–if you do too, please forward this email to friends, family, lovers, bowling partners, etc. We thank you for your generosity this holiday season.
