STILL Panel Discussion

2 Dec

Thanks to everyone who came out to Tarnish & Gold last night to “STILL: New Works By Scott West” for the panel discussion on the relationship between art & music. The conversation ranged from the title topic, to artist’s innovations to stay in business to strange artistic and commercial requests to conceptions of success. Mark Mallman succinctly wrapped up that line of discussion with the quip that, “You have to believe that you’re a success and then the rest of the world has to catch up with you!” Greta Seiffert of Tarnish and Gold remarked that it was the first talk that they had ever filled up all the chairs, so we’ll just count that as a success. For posterity, though, and if you weren’t able to make it out last night, here is the conversation in most of its entirety, with just a brief stoppage. It was a pleasure to host such articulate and creative people, and I look forward to the next time I am able to do it.
