Double Video Premiere!

6 Oct

Two great local acts (both of whom have played the Cake Shop!) dropped new videos that show off their respective world-views today. Dark Dark Dark, who just released Wild Go on October 2nd, posted a video for the single “Daydreaming”, which you get for free by signing up for the DDD e-mail list. The video, directed by Jonathan Kaiser and shot by Sam Hoolihan, follows a peripatetic marching band wandering by the highways, and the aged, flickering shots blue skies and wispy clouds have a yearning to wander that is beautifully contained in Nona Marie Invie’s vocals. Wild Go is going to perfect for the deep winter nights, when you need an escape, as well as for summer days spent traveling.

Coming in from a galaxy far, far away, Jeremy Messersmith released a cut paper animation for his song “Tatooine”, which you can get as a pay-what-you-can from Bandcamp. The video was made by Eric Power and covers the entire Star Wars trilogy in two minutes, which is a welcome, beautiful and innocent thing, given the diabolical schemes George Lucas has up his sleeve. Enjoy!
