Byzantine Beatbox

Christian Erickson, multi-talented musician with projects like Blue Sky Blackout and Astronaut Wife as well as general man-about-town just dropped something new that he’s been working on- “A Dance After A Funeral“, the first track from his new side project Byzantine Beatbox. The name isn’t just some aesthetic choice, it’s an accurate description of what he’s working with here, DJing a mix of medieval and orthodox melodies with electronic dance grooves and beats to make a delectable synthesis of the ancient and contemporary, not to mention the sacred and VIP lounge secular. It sounds like it would be great for bottle service sacrament, and totally addictive. Byzantine Beatbox makes it’s first appearance at Sauce on June 25th for the BNLX #2 release and you can cop(t) the track from Susstones. For added effect, “like” Byzantine Beatbox on Facebook then go to the “Introducing Byzantine Beatbox” photo gallery and click through the awesome images really fast while bobbing along to “A Dance After A Funeral”. It’s like a lightswitch rave in a basilica.
